Built on clarity. Powered by culture. Defined by systems.

We help Korean brands expand into international markets by adapting identity, messaging, and design systems so they resonate locally.

The Divide

Why Korean brands struggle globally.

It rarely comes down to product quality. The friction point is presentation. Tone, layout, and visual decisions that work intrinsically in Korea often fail to translate into markets like Australia, the US, or Europe. This creates a severe delta between the strength of the product and how it is perceived internationally.

Hypernym closes that gap.

The Approach

Engineered for Expansion.

Instead of a bloated centralized agency, we operate a distributed network. We combine rigorous global creative direction with native creators in each target market.

Network of Creatives

We operate a distributed network. Instead of a centralized team guessing what works overseas, we hire designers, writers, and strategists who actually live in your target market. This ensures the creative output is culturally fluent and prevents the costly tone-deaf mistakes that ruin global expansions.

Cultural Alignment

We mandate strict visual frameworks and core strategy from the top down, guaranteeing global brand consistency. However, we intentionally allow our local teams to adapt the nuance of how those elements are presented on the ground. This creates a unified brand that actually feels native, bypassing awkward translations and visual friction.

Execution

How It Works

01. Understand

Audit target ecosystem.

02. Adapt

Refine brand identity locally.

03. Execute

Deploy via native pipelines.

Proof

Grounded in reality.

This methodology wasn't invented in a boardroom. It was forged actively bridging the gap for domestic brands launching overseas and international clients operating locally.

Seongsu, Seoul

The Catalyst

This agency wasn't born in a boardroom; it was born out of necessity. While employed at a print shop in Seongsu, Seoul, Eoin watched the company attempt to expand into the Australian market completely blind. They lacked local context and were about to launch highly tone-deaf, potentially offensive imagery to a Western audience. Eoin intercepted the launch, acting as a cultural guardian. He restructured their messaging and tone, safely bridging the gap. Recognizing how many Korean companies suffer from this exact vulnerability, the concept for Hypernym was forged.

Seoul / Global

International Production

Coordinated native production for an Australian client requiring photography, videography, and event support in Seoul. Sourced English-fluent local teams, managed creative direction, and delivered end-to-end execution.

Launch Status

Ready to align.

Hypernym has currently been submitted to the OASIS startup program in South Korea. We are finalizing our launch and actively accepting expressions of interest from brands expanding intentionally.
